HEALTHCARE REFORM WILL AFFECT YOUR
FLEX 2011
IMPORTANT NOTICE
As a result of the Federal Government’s Health Care
Reform Bill, beginning January 1, 2011, Over-The-Counter
drugs will not
be allowed to run through your
Flex Plan without a doctor’s prescription. Please take this into
consideration when making your 2011 flex plan election.
If your plan allows the use of a flex debit card as a form of
reimbursement, please note that as of 1/1/2011 your transactions
will be declined for any Over-the-Counter
drugs you attempt to run through your flex account with your debit
card.
Currently items affected by this change are as follows:
Acid controllers, Allergy & Sinus,
Antibiotic products, Anti-Diarrheals, Anti-Gas, Anti-Itch and Insect
bite, Antiparasitic treatments, Baby Rash Ointments/creams, Cold
Sore Remedies, Cough, Cold & Flu, Digestive Aids, Feminine
Anti-fungal/Anti-itch, Hemmorrhoidal Preps, Laxatives, Motion
Sickness, Pain Relief, Respiratory Treatments, Sleep Aids &
Sedatives, Stomach Remedies

MILEAGE RATES:
EFFECTIVE July 1, 2011 December 2011- IRS adjusted
the mileage rate for medical purposes at 23.5 cents
a mile.
EFFECTIVE January 1, - June 30th 2011 - IRS adjusted
the mileage rate for medical purposes at 19 cents a
mile.
Medical Mileage rates for Jan - Dec 2010 - IRS has
set the
mileage rate for
medical purposes at 16.5 cents a mile.
DEBIT CARD HOLDERS:
Your debit cards are good
from plan year to plan year, DO NOT THROW THEM AWAY. If you
need a replacement card, you will be charged a $5.00 replacement
fee.
If you have had your card
going on 3 years, it will be up for renewal. Please check your
expiration date and watch your mail a month prior to that date for
your renewal cards.
